Erica Short

Erica Short is the founder of Elevated Speech and Language LLC. As a Speech and Language private practice company, she provides individualized, researched based, quality therapy services custom designed to meet the needs of each individual.

Her specialty is a focus on pediatric speech and language disorders along with adult voice and accent reduction services.

Her clientele consist of newborns through adults with focus on the following:

Prior to devoting her work fulltime to Elevated Speech and Language, Erica graduated from William Paterson University with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology, to further her education in Communication Disorders at the University of Texas at Dallas.  While completing her degrees, she worked full time at a Health Insurance Company working as a Professional Trainer and a Senior Business Analyst, updating company policy and procedures, informing and training staff on new and updated information, along with analyzing current company procedures to remain current on a national and global scale.

 

Beginning in 2010, Erica has provided parent/caregiver trainings and consultations, in-service staff trainings, and has collaborated with school districts, physicians, and other professionals to ensure best practices and treatment were afforded to each patient.   In 2016 she began presenting to colleagues, parents and students at the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association Convention.  

 

In her free time, Erica enjoys the outdoors and spending time with family and friends.  In 2016 she has begun continuing education courses to become a certified American Sign Language interpreter, anticipated to be completed by 2018.
